Connecting to a relay
Lets a paired phone or iPad reach this Mac from outside the local network.
A relay is a small backend service — one you run, not something OdinCam ships with — that sits between this Mac and a paired phone or iPad when they aren't on the same network. Nothing about recording changes: this only mirrors detections out, and carries Start/Stop Monitoring commands back in.
Registering trades a one-time enrollment token (created once, on the relay itself) for this Mac's own permanent identity, stored in the Keychain — the enrollment token is never needed again afterward.
The connection indicator reports the live state of that link: green "Connected" means the Mac's socket to the relay is open right now; yellow "Connecting…" is the handshake in progress; orange "Retrying in Ns…" means the last attempt failed and it's backing off before trying again automatically, which is what happens if the relay is temporarily down or this Mac loses internet — no action is needed, it reconnects on its own once the path is clear.
Turning the toggle off disconnects without discarding this Mac's registration; turning it back on reconnects with the same identity. "Forget this Mac" is different — it discards the identity entirely, and re-adding this Mac afterward needs a fresh enrollment token from the relay account.
