Privacy policy
Privacy policy
OdinCam is built so that what your cameras see can be opened only on your own devices. This policy sets out exactly what we handle, and what we never can.
Effective October 13, 2026. Applies to OdinCam 0.1.61 for Mac, iPhone and iPad, and to this website.
Who we are
OdinCam is made and run by Abizander Software ("we", "us"). We run the small server ("relay") that carries alerts, pictures and video between the devices in your household.
What we can't see
These are encrypted on your devices for your household's devices only. Our server stores or forwards them but holds no key to open them, so we don't collect them:
- pictures, motion heatmaps, clips, the timeline and Live View (picture and sound);
- what the camera noticed: people, dogs, cats, which of your pets, which sound, and where in the picture;
- your voice when you hold to talk, and spoken warnings;
- a camera's battery level;
- your settings: schedules, the part of the picture each camera watches, and Home & away;
- whether you're home or away. Your location itself never leaves your phone.
Detection and recognition happen on your devices. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else to be analysed. Your recordings are saved on your own Mac, iPhone or iPad; our server never keeps a copy.
What our server does handle
To deliver alerts and connect your devices, the relay keeps:
- Device identifiers: the id it gives each paired device, and each iPhone's or iPad's push notification token.
- Your household list: the names of your devices and their public keys.
- Event times: when each event happened, and whether it was motion, sound or both.
- Status: whether each camera is monitoring, when devices were last online, and requests sent from the app (such as start or stop monitoring, Record Now or Live View), with their time.
- Settings changes: when a device last changed a camera's settings, but not what they are.
We use these only to make OdinCam work. We don't sell them, share them for advertising, or use them to track you. There is no account with your name or email address.
What we never collect
- Your name, email address, phone number or postal address.
- Your location.
- Analytics, advertising data or crash reports. The apps contain no third-party code for any of these.
- Your email alert details. If you turn on email alerts, your mail account details stay on your Mac.
Services that help deliver OdinCam
- Railway hosts our relay server and its database, so it holds what the relay holds (above), but none of the keys to your pictures or video.
- Apple's push notification service delivers alerts to your iPhone and iPad. It sees that an alert arrived and the general wording "Something happened on a camera.", not what was seen.
- Your own email provider, if you turn on email alerts. It can read those emails like any other, including the one picture each carries if you turn on Include a picture from the camera.
- Cloudflare serves this website. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers; like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the page.
How long we keep things
- Events, with their locked pictures and details, are deleted automatically after 7 days, and the oldest go sooner if the server's space for events fills up.
- Requests sent to cameras are deleted after 7 days.
- Pairing codes work once and expire within minutes; the server deletes them within 30 days.
- Clips and Live View are never stored on our server.
Deleting your data
- Delete an event on your iPhone or iPad (swipe it, or Clear All) and it's deleted from our server.
- Delete recordings and pets on your Mac; they never left it.
- Take a device out of your household and it's signed out of the relay.
Step by step: Deleting your recordings and data. How the protections work: Security & Privacy.
Children
OdinCam has no accounts, and never asks for a name, email address or anything else that identifies a person, whatever their age.
Changes
When what we handle changes, we update this page and its effective date, in the same release as the change.
