Push notifications on the companion app
Asked for right after pairing succeeds — a Mac detecting something is what triggers one.
The companion app asks for notification permission once, immediately after a successful pairing, not before — there's nothing to grant permission for until a Mac is actually connected.
A push arrives when a paired Mac reports a detection to the relay, the same report that populates Recent Events. If a Mac's relay connection is down when something happens, that detection has no push to send until it reconnects and reports in — "Connecting to a relay" explains what keeps that link up.
If notifications stop arriving, check that permission is still granted in the iOS/iPadOS Settings app for OdinCam, and that the Mac's own connection indicator shows Connected rather than Retrying.
