Household
The devices that can see each other's cameras. Each joins once, approved from any device already in it.
Your household is the set of devices — Macs and iPhones — that can see each other's cameras: live video, the timeline, clips and event pictures. Everything is encrypted for exactly these devices, so the relay that passes it along can't see any of it.
The first Mac on your account starts the household by itself. Every other device joins once:
- On the new device, choose Join (a new iPhone asks by itself after pairing).
- On any device already in the household, open Household and choose Review.
- Both show a six-digit code. If they match, confirm on both.
Matching codes prove the two devices reached each other and nothing sat in between. If they differ, don't confirm — something is trying to join in place of your device.
To take a device out — a phone you've lost, one you've sold — choose Remove. It can't open any new pictures or video from the moment the other devices catch up, usually within a minute, and your Macs sign it out of OdinCam, so it can't see events or turn monitoring on or off either. It can't be undone from that device; to add it back, pair it again and approve it.
