Deleting your recordings and data
Delete a clip, an event, a pet or a whole camera, and how long the server keeps anything.
To delete a recording on the Mac:
- In the Recordings list, right-click (or Control-click) the recording.
- Choose Delete….
- Choose Move to Trash. The clip goes to the Trash with its filmstrip. Empty the Trash to remove it for good.
OdinCam also deletes old recordings for you; see "Keeping the folder from filling up".
To delete events from the server, on your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the camera.
- Swipe an event in Recent events and delete it, or tap Clear All and confirm with Delete All.
- The event, its picture and what was seen are deleted from the server, so they disappear on all your devices.
The server deletes events by itself after 7 days. It never keeps clips or Live View.
To remove a pet on the Mac:
- Open Settings › Pets.
- Open the menu beside the pet and choose Remove (for example Remove Rex…).
- Choose Remove to confirm. Its photos are deleted from the Mac.
To stop a phone or iPad using a camera:
- On that device, open the camera's settings.
- Tap Forget This Mac… and confirm. The device is signed out of that camera, on the server as well as on the device.
To take a device out of your household, use Remove in Settings › Devices on the Mac, or in Household on an iPhone or iPad. It is signed out of all your cameras: it can't open new pictures or video, see events or turn monitoring on or off.
