Sound detection

Triggers on sound relative to the room's own noise level, not an absolute volume.

Sound detection measures how far a sound rises above the room's ambient level, which it learns continuously. That means one sensitivity setting behaves the same in a quiet study and a room facing a busy road.

Low-frequency rumble — heating, fans, compressors, traffic through a wall — is filtered out before the level is measured. Without that, sensitivity ends up calibrated against your furnace.

Optionally, sounds can be classified so only certain kinds raise an alert: speech, breaking glass, knocking, alarms and so on. That check runs only on sound that already passed the level threshold.
